I’ve been meaning to post this all week but I’ve been having problems logging into my blog. On Jace’s birthday, way back on April 30th we found out that Jace was going to be a BIG BROTHER! We wanted to announce the big news sooner but wanted to tell our family first. We will be posting an announcement on Saturday so if you are friends with me on Facebook please wait to post anything.
So that is the reason that I haven’t been posting much. Soon after we found out I started getting horrible morning sickness. Honestly if I had any posts it would have been pretty negative and about how sick and tired I was feeling. With Jace I had some but it was mostly just every night until I was about 13 weeks. Sounds bad but it was actually really easy. I would just make dinner, throw up, then eat my dinner and be fine. I was still nauseous all the time but as long as I ate some crackers I was fine. With this pregnancy not so much… And until this week I couldn’t even manage to drink COFFEE! The smell of it would make me sick. And let me tell you going from at least 2 or 3 cups everyday to not being able to drink it over night sucked! I had the horrible but normal exhaustion from being pregnant and had to stop drinking coffee cold turkey. It was no fun and I ended up having a lot of headaches for a few days after.
It has been getting better recently and we have been able to get back to being excited about it. I mean we were pretty excited before and had been expecting it for a few months before hand but when you feel horrible every waking moment its hard to let that excitement show. 🙂
Jace seems pretty excited sometimes. He likes to give the baby kisses and gets excited when we talk about having a baby that he can play with. I’m sure that will change a little when he/she actually arrives. I’m hoping that he will be able to feel the little kicks soon and maybe understand a little more about what is going on.
I’ve got to admit I didn’t know how much I missed feeling those little kicks and wiggles. It makes it seem more real. Now that I’m feeling better it has been easy to forget sometimes that I’m even pregnant. It is so true about the difference between your first pregnancy and your second. With Jace we ready every week about what was happening and had names picked out right away. With this one we just don’t have time to read every week and haven’t fully decided on any names.
We are having a small gender reveal on Saturday. Patrick and I have been thinking that it might be a girl. We really arn’t that picky either way. I think it would be kind of fun with two little boys running around the house. I know boys having grown up with two brother. Little girls on the other hand makes me a little nervous. So far we have been calling him/her a girl ever since Jace said that it was a sissy. But either way we are pretty excited to find out. 🙂
