Letter To My Son On His 2nd Birthday

I’ve been wanting to write this for a few days now but we have been so busy. It is a few days past your birthday but I wanted to share it anyway. Plus we are still singing you happy birthday every day since you enjoy it so much!

Jace I can not believe how fast these two years have gone by! I hope one day you can read this and understand for yourself what it means.

You are truly amazing and the best thing that has ever happened to me and your daddy. You have taught us so many things that we didn’t know we were missing. You still seem to be learning new things everyday. Some good and some not so good like your daddy teaching you to put both fingers in your nose and most recently spitting. I swear you spit everywhere and I’m pretty sure you spit while you are in the car seat just to annoy us. 🙂 But I’m sure that it will one day pass and I’ll miss the spitting toddler in my backseat.

You look at everything with wonder and amazement. I love seeing it in your eyes. I can see the magic of the world in them and I hope you never lose that. You currently love looking at the moon and planes in the sky and think it is the coolest thing ever. You also enjoy howling at the moon in the backyard when we take you out to see it at night. 🙂 I don’t know what the neighbors think of all of us outside howling but I don’t really care.

You LOVE Blue’s Clues and want to watch it ALL the time. Sometimes I regret ever showing it to you but then you run in the room and yell “MAILLLLL!” at the top of your lungs and we can’t help but laugh. You also like to wake us up by yelling it in our face usually followed by licking us. 🙂

You love to climb. Stairs, chairs, even tables are not safe when you are around. You climb up and wait for me to notice that you are standing on something and hold out your arms when I come get you.

You love bugs. You search for pill bugs and like to hold them while they crawl around on your hand. You also like to find random bugs and pick them up and bring them over to us. Usually I make you give them to Daddy to “save” by putting them outside.

You are an amazing little boy and we love watching you grow and learn new things. The way you see the world is amazing. You are fearless and very very silly. We love you more than we can ever tell you!
