Yay! I’m so excited that I got my first Ispy bag in on Thursday! For those of you that don’t know, Ispy is a subscription makeup box that sends you 4 or 5 items to try every month. I signed up because I wanted to build up my makeup collection and try out new things. I’m not really makeup savvy and usually just wear the basics when I wear makeup at all. I love all the new makeup styles that have been coming out and I wanted to try some of them out. Rather than buying a bunch of things that I have no clue about I decided to sign up for the Ipsy glam bag and at $10 a month you can’t really beat that price!
This is my Ispy May 2014 Review and bag
My first impression of the bag itself was great! The bag is super cute and very summery. I love the canvas print. At first I was a little disappointed that the contents of the bag really didn’t include much makeup at all! But after looking and trying out each product I’m actually very happy with it.
The first thing I tried is the Hang Ten Classic Sport SPF 50. It is 1 oz and valued at $3. I was actually needing sunscreen anyway so this was great! I really love the bright colors and the cute design. It also uses organic ingredients which I think is awesome and make it even better! I love the smell and it went on really smooth and did not make my face feel greasy or oily at all!
The next item I tried was the Pacifica Natural Beauty Eye Shadow Duo 2 valued at $5. I love the color but when applying it was very faint. I don’t like really dark colors anyway so it worked out nice for me, but if you like the dark color be prepared to apply it a few times.
I was super excited to try the Hey Honey Take It Off Exfoliating Honey peel off mask valued at $7. I used to love putting peel off mask on with my mom as a kid and haven’t put one on in years. It was super easy to put on and take off and it left my skin feeling amazing. I would totally buy this mask again.
The next item I tried out was the Eva NYC Therapy Session Hair Mask valued just under $5. I also just loved the bright colorful packaging with this product. Like the Hang Ten sunscreen they both look really summery. I was really impressed with the hair mask. I used it in place of my regular conditioner and left it on for a few minutes while I shaved my legs. After I rinsed it out my hair felt so soft! And it feels really great this morning! Just like many other mommies after I had Jace my skin and hair feels a lot dryer than it used too. This product really helped.
The last thing that was in my bag was the Eau Thermale Avene Thermal Spring water valued at $9. At first I admit I though it was pretty pointless. Why did they send me water to spray on my face? But after reading a little about it I became a little more interested. Apparently you can use it to refresh your makeup and it can help sunburn and diaper rash feel better. I put it on a little while after I put my makeup yesterday and it did make it look fresher. And I’m sure that if I get sunburned this summer I’ll give it a shot!
I was pretty happy with this bag. While I was looking forward to more makeup products the skin care and hair care items were really cool and I was pretty pleased with all of them. If you are interested in signing up for Ipsy you can do so here. http://www.ipsy.com/r/9qwf
