Last Wednesday we took Jace to Schlitterbahn. He. Had. A. Blast. Patrick and I had season passes a few years ago and decided we would have more fun taking Jace and not going on any big rides. We also HATE lines so we probably wouldn’t have gone on them anyway.
The first thing we took him on was the raging river tube shoot. Those of you that have been to Schlitterbahn know that it is the longest ride there. It is about 45 minutes long and I was a little nervous that Jace wouldn’t want to sit in his own tube long enough to go on it. But he did! I think it was mostly because he didn’t think he could move when he was in his life vest.
He loves the water and I think his favorite thing was the splash pad areas. Where he would walk over to the water himself and play with whatever he wanted. He made sure to pick up any leaves that were nearby also. 🙂
Since he seems to have gotten my pale skin I put a ton of sunscreen on him. I was so worried about him getting burned and I knew he wouldn’t keep a hat on him I even put it in his hair. He may have looked like a greasy monkey but he was the only one of us that didn’t get burnt at all.
Since he missed nap time and was out in the sun all day he fell asleep as soon as we got to the car. The poor baby was tired! But he woke up long enough to eat at Golden Corral on the way home. 🙂
Patrick worked all day on Friday and he works all day this Friday. I HATE when he has to work both jobs. It mean that he is gone from 6am to at least 10pm and that just sucks. I love that I am able to stay home with Jace but like so many other stay at home parents by the time Patrick gets home from work I’m ready to throw Jace at him and have a few mins alone.
The rest of the weekend went by too fast. We made a short day trip to Austin on Saturday and on Sunday we ran errands pretty much all day. I don’t think we know how to have a restful weekend. And now it seems that we may all be coming down with something and Jace is getting some back molars in.
Nap time is over…
