Getting Ready for School with Kohl’s

Jace starts kindergarten in September. It is going to be a big change for our little family since he has never really been away on his own. We have slowly been getting ready this summer. The other day we headed to Kohl’s to pick up a few new shirts to start of the school year. Thanks to Influenster we had some Kohl’s Cash to spend. To be honest we haven’t been huge Kohl’s shoppers in the past. I was really[Read more]

I’m watching the kiddos play in the backyard. Mostly just working on making mud and seeing how much of it they can get on their bodies. 🤷🏻‍♀️ In a few minutes they will start chasing fireflies around the yard. I’m trying to find a couple of minutes to write before they start throwing the mud in my direction. Jace is now 5… time is weird. It moves too fast and too slow at the same time. He starts school in[Read more]

A Letter To My Daughter On Her 2nd Birthday

Oh my sweet Christmas baby. You turned two just two days before Christmas. I wrote Jace a letter for his 2nd Birthday and I wanted to do the same for you. Rylie you are Mommy’s baby, Daddy’s Monster, and Jace’s princess and you never let us forget it. You are so smart. You say tons of words and are already saying full sentences. You surprised us every day by how well you are at communicating. Jace didn’t really start talking[Read more]

It’s Fall

The AC is broken again… Owning a home is great until something breaks and you have to figure out how to fix it. A few weeks ago it broke and luckily it was just some loose wires. Unfortunately this time it seems to be something more expensive. Hopefully it’s just a minor part that will be here tomorrow and not the more expensive part that we really can’t afford. Apparently if it’s the more expensive part you might as well[Read more]

I haven’t written in a while. Jace and Rylie have been keeping me busy along with all the things that keep breaking around the house. Since I last updated we had to fix a busted pipe that was pouring water out of our garage. FYI digging a hole in your concrete slab in your garage isn’t too hard. Patrick is pretty handy lol.  We haven’t been setting up at the Flea Market recently. Patrick has been having classes Friday-Sunday to[Read more]

A couple of weeks ago we went on a roadtrip with the kiddos. It was amazing! We tried to head in the general direction that we did 7 years ago on our honeymoon.  I’m planning on writing a few more detailed posts about the places we visited but we went to Colorado then headed to Vegas.  Colorado was a nice change from this Texas heat that is cooking us this summer. It is so beautiful there. But be careful about[Read more]

Flavor Your Life

I use olive oil ALL the time when I cook. Sometimes I use it in recipes, to sauté veggies, and even as dressing for salad. My favorite way has to be when I’m cooking vegetables but you can really taste the difference in the salad dressing between brand that you use.  I was lucky enough to try Zucchi 1810 100% Italiano Extra Virgin Olive Oil recently and it was amazing.  The maker Oleificio Zucchi started in 1810 in the area[Read more]

Little Update

I should be packing! We leave on Friday for a little roadtrip. 7 years ago Patrick and I went on a honeymoon roadtrip and since we just had our anniversary we decided to do it again! Should be interesting with the kiddos…  We are doing good. Jace is getting more grown up every day and Rylie tries to do EVERYTHING he does.

Jace is now 4! My mind still can’t wrap around that it’s been 4 years since I became a mom. In some ways it feels like I’ve been a mom for a lot longer than that but when I think of it as Jace turning 4 it’s like NOOO!  He has grown so much this year. He is potty trained, we finally ditched the pacifier 🙈, and he stopped sucking his finger on his own. I stopped cutting his bananas[Read more]
